Julius Caesar centres on the assassination of the Roman Ruler Julius Caesar and the oppression of power of those that were around him. Caesars belief in his experience power conflicting with the others is expressed for example in the disruption scene of Act III. Artemidorus tries to give Caesar his scroll which would warn him of the tragedies of his initiation in the Capitol, but Caesar retaliates by saying he is constant quantity as the Northern Star,/ Of whose trued fixed and resting quality/There is no fellow in the firmament. /[the] one in all [that] doth acquire his place.
Ironically, he gives this metaphorical speech moments before his stopping point which suggests that the people around him simply did not believe his oration of power, and that Caesar considers him self steadfast and infallible, beyond the questioning of mortal men, as he compares the foolish idea of him being persuaded of something to the impossible acting of hefting the weighting of Mount Olympus. Caesar gives last priority to his most personal concerns, accept that his public self is so strong that his private self cannot be harmed. His inability to take warnings, firstly from the Soothsayer ( watch out the ides of March), then from Calpurnia and finally from Artemidorus creates varied and challenging conflicting perspectives within Caesar and his fellow men. His human condition is abrupt and lacerate on the inside which he bravely tries to hide in public, but to no avail as he fails to comprise instructions and is stabbed.
