Understanding Suicide

For my part in our group project on felo-de-se I am going to bring you some facts and figures nearly this subject. For this study I impart taken information from the nett site Wikipedia, The Irish time and a service ejaculate Sosad, which represents (Save our Sons and Daughters). As a matter of interest I have recently spoke with a worker in Sosad who conscious me that since they opened on the 10th September 2010 they have about 40 clients and have received about 80 put out calls. In County Louth there have been 4 self-destructions since Christmas with the latest hold week in Ardee. These 4 suicides had not been in speck with SOSAD. At the moment SOSAD take at least 6 distressed calls per week with Male / Female ratio universe equal. There are a lot of concerns about teenagers fetching street tablets. Co. Louth coroner Ronan Maguire has said there are to a greater extent stack dying by suicide in County Louth than in car accidents and the majority of case were males under 55.

Sosad is an organisation with quintuplet main goals, which are:
To raise awareness of suicide in Ireland.
To break the taboo surrounding suicide.




To provide support and precaution to those feeling suicidal
To provide support and burster to those approached by someone feeling suicidal
To provide support and direction for those bereaved by suicide.

Figures in Ireland

A lot of bulk may not be aware of how bad the suicide problem is in Ireland. Many suicides are not describe or save as such, so the Central Statistics figures in the table are probably only about 2/3 of actual suicides. Even car accidents could be suicides its sometimes unknown how an accident took place and if its recorded as suicide some insurance companies wont pay out to the relatives.
According to Carl OBrien from the Irish Times new research indicates more than 80 per cent of people who took their own lives discussed suicidal ideas with someone in the fortnight in advance their death,.
