Social Order and the Lack Thereof

High-Rise, written by JG Ballard, is a story of human regression and loving failure. overmuch of what happens in the novel is based upon hearty discriminate and the issues that class divisions create in society. It is rare that a human is center with his social standing. They fall in the tendency to desire to be in a higher class then their own, however, they often have trouble attaining class succession. Humans, in general, depend on their social standing in society as much as they desire to challenge it, and therefore the lack of social set up in the novel causes the tenants of the high-rise to regress and incur to a greater extent primitive. Without any real social standing, humans begin to become more animalistic and resort to their repressed, primal instincts. The novel provides us with an understanding that the upper crust of society feels a need to dominate, the middle class of society yearns to remain hidden and safe, while the lowest-class of society tries proving to themselves and the other(a) classes that they are respectable and worthy of being acknowledged by society.

Firstly, the novel explains that, with the lack of a defined social do, the upper-class of society tends to try and dominate any other social class so that they may regain social order and allow themselves to be back on top.
