The route in which we speak has a direct correlational statistics on the way in which people think of us. Our lyric poem is influenced by things such as the; programmes and films we watch, the music we listen to and our upbringing. We accommodate the way we speak for specific purposes as we know that as a society we are stereotyped by the way we talk. For example, when speaking to a parent, I use standard side as it shows much respect in the sense that if I used informal language to them, they wouldnt understand and that would impede the conversation. Standard English is more appropriate to use as I have more formal conversations with my parents than I do with my conversances, making Standard English more appropriate.
When speaking to jocks, I speak faster, co-occur more, use more fillers and use colloquial language. This is because when speaking to friends the conversation is always flowing as its usually about a certain subject area which then turns into a nonher. For example, we talk about a programme, and then a friend will talk about the music played and so changing the bailiwick of conversation, whereas with my parents, we talk about one topic at a time before switching topics. When talk to friends I also use more fillers such as yea.



I constantly use this filler to occlusion that the other person is listening, as when I say yeah my friend will also reply with yeah openhanded me certainty that they are listening to me. When friends and I are talking, the topic is usually about something that happened, whether on a programme or in real life. So when we are telling individually other what has happened, the other person usually has an opinion of what happened so will overlap. For example in my transcript...... Overlapping when I friend is talking is done so often that its not deemed as rude between us so I constantly do it. But I would not overlap my parents, teachers or grandparents as its disrespectful because they are of age(p) than me and have more authority so demand more respect.
