Oedipus Rex vs. Antigone

Power and pride have the bureau to deprave and change a once virtuous man. In Oedipus Rex and Antigone, scripted by Sophocles, a character named Creon appears in both past stories, but changes roles and personalities. Creon first appears in Oedipus Rex as the Queens brother. He is grim and humble, even through Oedipus missions of conspiring against him for the throne. Although, when the story of Antigone begins, Creon is given the throne and rules all over Thebes. As his power and pride rises, he becomes particularly paranoid, believe everyone is come on to betray him and as he becomes suspicious, the once affable leader rules Thebes with a iron fist. Paranoia built from the pride and power of being a king consume Creon and eventually accept about his own demise.
