The nurse metaparadigm comes from a the Greek Prefix meta, which means to a greater extent comprehensive or transcending, and the intellectual community (Agnes, 2005). The metaparadigm of care for identifies human beings, the environment, health, and nursing as the subject matter of interest to nurses. The theory is founded on the belief that a patients environment could be altered in parliamentary law to allow nature to act on the patient (Alligood, M.R., & Torney. A.M. 2002, p. 84).
