Also, they both believe that economic equality must be achieved in order for blacks to give back to society. Along with saying that economic equality was a requirement Booker said that blacks could either help struggle us up, or they could pull us down if whites kept suppressing blacks. First being that DuBois believes that total equality must be achieved as soon as possible, while Booker believes that the equality will come with time.
